Plagiarism Policy
Plagiarism and Originality Policy
The Journal of Communication and Da'wah upholds a strict commitment to the originality and integrity of all published scholarly works. To maintain the highest academic standards, every manuscript submitted undergoes a thorough plagiarism screening using industry-standard similarity detection software, such as Turnitin or iThenticate.
Plagiarism Screening Process
- Similarity ≤ 20% Manuscripts are considered acceptable and will proceed to the peer-review stage.
- Similarity 21–30% Manuscripts will be returned to the author for major revision to reduce similarity levels.
- Similarity > 30% Manuscripts will be rejected outright as they do not meet originality requirements.
Ethical Violations
The following practices are strictly prohibited:
- Plagiarism: Presenting someone else’s ideas, data, or words as one’s own without proper attribution.
- Duplicate Publication: Submitting the same manuscript to multiple journals or publishing similar work in more than one venue.
- Data Fabrication: Manipulating research data, results, or references to mislead readers.
- Citation Manipulation: Excessive self-citations or citation stacking to influence impact metrics.
Handling of Violations
Any detected case of academic misconduct will be addressed according to COPE guidelines, which may include:
- Requesting clarification or correction from the author.
- Issuing a formal rejection or retraction (for published articles).
- Informing the author’s institution in severe cases.
This rigorous approach ensures that Journal of Communication and Da'wah continues to serve as a trustworthy, credible, and ethical platform for original research.
