Plagiarism Policy
Plagiarism and Originality Policy
The Journal of Communication and Da'wah upholds a strict commitment to the originality and integrity of all published scholarly works. To maintain the highest academic standards, every manuscript submitted to Journal of Communication and Da'wah undergoes a thorough plagiarism screening using industry-standard similarity detection software, such as Turnitin or iThenticate.
Plagiarism Screening Process
- Similarity ≤ 20%: Manuscripts with a similarity index of 20% or less (excluding properly cited quotations and references) are considered acceptable and will proceed to the peer-review stage.
- Similarity 21–30%: Manuscripts within this range will be returned to the author for major revision. Authors are required to reduce similarity levels and resubmit a cleaner version of the manuscript before further review.
- Similarity > 30%: Manuscripts exceeding 30% similarity will be rejected outright, as they do not meet Journal of Communication and Da'wahoriginality requirements.
Ethical Violations
Journal of Communication and Da'wah takes academic misconduct seriously. The following practices are strictly prohibited:
- Plagiarism: Presenting someone else’s ideas, data, or words as one’s own without proper attribution.
- Duplicate or Redundant Publication: Submitting the same manuscript to multiple journals or publishing substantially similar work in more than one venue without proper disclosure.
- Data Fabrication or Falsification: Manipulating research data, results, or references to mislead readers.
- Citation Manipulation: Excessive or irrelevant self-citations or citation stacking to influence impact metrics.
Handling of Violations
Any detected case of plagiarism or academic misconduct will be addressed according to COPE guidelines, which may include:
- Requesting clarification or correction from the author.
- Issuing a formal rejection or retraction (for published articles).
- Informing the author’s institution or relevant academic authorities in severe cases.
This rigorous approach ensures that Journal of Communication and Da'wah continues to serve as a trustworthy, credible, and ethical platform for disseminating original research in the field of Islamic da’wah and communication.
