Peer Review Process
The Journal of Communication and Da'wah is firmly committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and scholarly excellence. To achieve this, Journal of Communication and Da'wah employs a double-blind peer review process, which means that:
- The identities of the authors are concealed from the reviewers.
- The identities of the reviewers are not disclosed to the authors.
This policy is designed to ensure objectivity, transparency, and fairness throughout the review process, eliminating potential bias and safeguarding the quality of every published article.
Steps in the Journal of Communication and Da'wah Peer Review Process
- Initial Editorial Screening
All submitted manuscripts are first assessed by the editorial team to determine their relevance to the journal’s focus and scope, as well as compliance with CJDC’s formatting and submission guidelines. Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be returned to the authors for correction or rejected outright before entering the review stage. - Plagiarism Screening
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are subjected to a plagiarism check using similarity detection software such as Turnitin or iThenticate. - Manuscripts with a similarity index above 20% will be returned to the authors for revision or rejected if plagiarism is detected.
- Proper citation and originality are strictly required to maintain academic ethics.
- Peer Review
Manuscripts that clear plagiarism screening are sent to at least two qualified expert reviewers in the relevant field. Reviewers are tasked to evaluate the manuscript based on the following criteria: - Substance and significance of the research
- Soundness of methodology and data analysis
- Originality and novelty of the study
- Contribution to knowledge in the field of Islamic da’wah and communication
- Editorial Decision
After receiving feedback from reviewers, the editorial team deliberates and makes one of the following decisions: - Accept without revision
- Accept with minor revision
- Require major revision and resubmission
- Reject (not suitable for publication)
- Author Revision
Authors whose manuscripts require revision must respond to reviewers’ comments thoroughly and systematically. A response letter detailing how each suggestion was addressed is strongly encouraged to facilitate re-evaluation. - Finalization and Publication
Once the manuscript is accepted, it undergoes final editing, copyediting, and layout formatting by the editorial team before publication in the journal.
Through this comprehensive process, Journal of Communication and Da'wah ensures that all published articles meet international standards of scholarly quality, contributing meaningfully to the field of Islamic da’wah and communication.
