Welcome to the Journal of Communication and Da'wah
The Journal of Communication and Da'wah is a peer-reviewed, open access scientific journal published by the Faculty of Da’wah, Islamic University of Cordoba Banyuwangi, Indonesia. This journal serves as a dedicated academic platform aimed at integrating Islamic values with contemporary scholarship in the fields of da’wah and communication.
Journal of Communication and Da'wah aspires to:
- Enrich scholarly discourse by publishing research that deepens theoretical understanding and expands the intellectual horizons of da’wah and communication studies.
- Strengthen the theoretical foundations of da’wah and communication sciences by bridging classical Islamic thought with modern methodologies.
- Provide practical contributions that can be implemented by da’wah practitioners, educators, and policymakers in addressing contemporary social and cultural challenges.
Focus and Scope
Journal of Communication and Da'wah publishes original research articles, conceptual papers, literature reviews, and community service reports that are relevant to the field of da’wah and communication. Through an interdisciplinary approach, Journal of Communication and Da'wah seeks to build a bridge between theory and practice, tradition and modernity, and local values and global demands.
Areas of interest include, but are not limited to:
- Theories and Practices of Da’wah: methodology, strategies, classical and contemporary approaches to da’wah, including bil lisan, bil qalam, bil hal, and bil hikmah.
- Islamic Communication and Media: Islamic perspectives on communication processes, print media, broadcasting, and digital media ecosystems.
- Islamic Journalism and Broadcasting: principles and ethics of Islamic journalism, television and radio da’wah broadcasting, and news production in Islamic contexts.
- Rhetoric, Public Communication, and Organizational Communication: Islamic rhetoric, persuasion techniques, da’wah diplomacy, organizational communication, and leadership studies.
- Digital Technology and Da’wah in the Era of Industry 4.0–5.0: social media activism, artificial intelligence, big data utilization, and technology-driven communication strategies.
- Pesantren Studies and Da’wah Education: pesantren curriculum integration, pedagogical innovation, and the role of Islamic educational institutions in da’wah.
- Interdisciplinary Studies in Global Da’wah and Communication: comparative da’wah studies, religious moderation, interfaith dialogue, and Islamic diplomacy in the global context.
Publication Frequency and Open Access Policy
Journal of Communication and Da'wah is published biannually:
- June Issue (January–May coverage)
- December Issue (July–November coverage)
All articles are made available in full open access format, enabling readers worldwide to read, download, share, and cite published works freely, without subscription barriers. This commitment reflects Journal of Communication and Da'wah mission to support the broadest possible dissemination of knowledge and foster global scholarly collaboration.
Call for Contributions
Journal of Communication and Da'wah warmly welcomes academics, researchers, practitioners, postgraduate students, and enthusiasts in the fields of da’wah and communication studies to submit their best works via the Official OJS Submission System. Every submission undergoes an initial editorial screening followed by a rigorous double-blind peer review to ensure the highest academic standards, objectivity, and integrity.
